Getting started

The most important is to start by meeting the tutor, Harry Levinson.

Please contact Harry to reserve your place or to arrange a meeting.

There are now introductory classes and film making groups to join:

Initial training

This will be on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis so that students get a quick efficient introduction to the basics of filmmaking.

The Camcorder
They will learn:
How to operate the camcorder to compose shots and the camera movements required such as zooms, pans and fixed lens, when to use the camera hand held or on a tripod taking into account the aim of the filmed sequence.

Editing
The basic processes of non-linear editing will be covered, using the application Final Cut Express on an Apple Mac computer. As the film is on the computer, the editing process is organic. As expertise develops, new film can be added and the final version elaborated and improved
